Walking in Shropshire
The Walk
Park in the Crown Pub car park of the Crown Pub. Cross over High Street and turn right. Take the first left along Cross Road. Walk on the pavement on the left side. When you reach Newhouse Lane on your left, turn left down here. Walk past Albrighton Primary School.
At the end of Newhouse Lane cross over the main road and go straight on signposted to Boningale. At the junction turn left into Church Lane. Walk along Church Lane until you reach the church on your left. Admire the view of the church then double back on yourself. When you reach the road on your right where you came up, do not go right here, instead walk straight on.
When you reach the junction turn right. Cross back over the main road and go straight on and walk down Patshull Road.
Eventually you come to a roundabout. Turn right here. Take a look at the pond on your right, then walk along Cross Road and back to the Crown Pub.
The Pub
The pub is traditional, warm and friendly. The wine was a Hardys Chardonnay at £3.15 for a 1.75cl glass (as at 15 January 2014). No music this time, but plenty of cosy atmosphere!
Lyn says: This is a lovely easy walk for a cold winter afternoon. All on lanes so no mud to worry about -the walk takes you to the lovely little hamlet of Boningale and then back to one of our favourite pubs in Albrighton.
